Memories

As I was looking through our pictures from a few years ago, I came across some that brought back some really good memories.

This is Frosty, our Iowa snowman. He was actually my sister's creation :)

This picture doesn't really bring back any memories, but I thought I'd share it with you. Take a really good look at this picture. Do you notice anything unusual about it? We call this picture the Fire of Christ!

In June of 2005 my older sister Amber was baptized!

In June of 2005 I too was baptized :)

In June 2007 Sydney was baptized...by our dad :)

*Hope y'all have a blessed and wonderful day*

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The Cafeteria Monster

When I was in second grade I went to a small school in a small town in Southwestern Iowa. At lunch time my friends Wyatt, Drew, and I didn't really enjoy this time of day, but our friend William didn't have a problem with it (not sure why). We didn't like it because the food was bad, but because of one of the ladies who worked in the cafeteria. I can't remember her name, but I remember the nickname Wyatt, Drew, and I gave her...the Cafeteria Monster, anyway back to the story. Every time Wyatt, Drew, and I would come up to her so she could give us our food, this is how the conversation would go between her and us second graders:

Me: Ma'am can I have very little green beans and carrots on my tray please?

Cafeteria Monster: Why what's the matter you don't like them?

Me: No, I've just never cared for green beans and carrots.

Cafeteria Monster: Fine!

There went scoop 1, scoop 2, scoop 3... you get the picture.

Or if it was pizza day this is how the conversation between Wyatt, Drew, and William would go:

Wyatt and Drew: I don't want any pizza please.

Cafeteria Monster: Why you don't like it?

Wyatt and Drew: No, I just don't feel like pizza today.

Cafeteria Monster: Fine!

There went one HUGE slice for the two boys. Now I have to add in this post that the pizza the schools serve is absolutely AWFUL!!!!!! Also William wasn't very polite with Cafeteria Monster. This is how the conversation would go between William and Cafeteria Monster:

William: I don't want any pizza.

Cafeteria Monster: What's the matter, you don't like it?

William: That's right I absolutely HATE the pizza here, but since I don't want to go hungry I'll have some anyway.

I think that's why Cafeteria Monster was always nicer to William than to Wyatt, Drew, and me. Cafeteria Monster was also mean to me when I didn't want skim milk, but whole milk. Here is how the conversation would go between me and Cafeteria Monster:

Cafeteria Monster: HURRY UP your holding up the line!!!!!!!!

Me: Do you have whole milk instead of skim milk? (I absolutely HATE skim milk!!!!!)

Cafeteria Monster: No! If you don't like skim milk then have Orange Juice!!

Me: But I don't feel like Orange Juice, I feel like Chocolate Milk.

Cafeteria Monster: THEN HAVE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then when Wyatt and Drew would come across the first graders going into the cafeteria for lunch they would tell the first graders to be careful because the cafeteria was haunted. I thought that, that was VERY mean, but they got a kick from the first graders face when they would say that.

As you can tell my second grade year in the small town wasn't very pleasant! Luckily my mom decided to home-school me after my second grade year was finished (PRAISE GOD FOR THAT) :)

Hope y'all have a wonderful and blessed weekend!

NOTE: This story was a work of fiction and non-fiction. The characters are non-fiction, but the sentence which contains the cafeteria being haunted was fiction.

My first blanket

Last week I went to Threads of Love and my friends mom showed me how to knit a 18" x 18" blanket for a premie. I wasn't sure if it would turn out good, but I tired anyway. So two days ago I completed the blanket. Here is a picture of it:

It's still on the loom because I have NO IDEA how to get if off.

I'll post another picture when the blanket is actually off the loom.

Letters to God

This movie just recently came out, so I thought I'd review it.

Letters to God is based on a true story. And it is such a good movie, it will make you laugh and cry.

It is a about an eight year old boy named Tyler who has brain cancer. And the whole movie is about how he writes letters to God about everything going on in his life. And he encourages others to write letters to God as well. I'm afraid if I tell y'all more about the movie I'll ruin it, so I wont tell you any more.

This movie is very family - friendly one the whole family will enjoy!

She's nine!

Tuesday Sydney turned nine years old and made it known :) When we went to the DPS office she made sure the employee knew it was her birthday. Thank you Ladybug for taking time out of your day so I could take the driving test. She absolutely loved the gifts she received from family and me.

Wednesday we actually "celebrated" her birthday and went to an amusement park called ZDT's. We absolutely had a blast (again) at this place, they had added two new rides, one is called the Dizzy Toucan and the second one is called the Hydro Coaster. Before we knew it, it was time to go home. Sydney (and I) had a GREAT time!

Here are some pictures I took on her birthday.

This is what I got when I told her I wanted a smile.

I think she was just a little excited :)

Sydney had just made a wish or said a little prayer, not quite sure which one she decided to do. All the credit goes to my dad for taking this picture ~ love you dad :)

I PASSED!!

Okay so the past two months we have trying for me to get my learner's permit, but had to take care of some legal things. So finally two days ago (which happened to be my sister's birthday) we went to the DPS office so I could take the computer test. My first try taking the test, and I failed. Wednesday we went back... after I studied REALLY HARD the night before... I failed. So last night and this morning I studied, studied, studied. I went back to the DPS office today, took the written test and... PASSED. I can finally drive LEGALLY :) I was so excited I was even able to drive to my dad's work, then drive in town with mild traffic.
