My beautiful new apron

Today I received my beautifully sewn apron from Miss Toria, my partner in the apron swap hosted by Emily over at Pratically Pink. I also received a recipe for No Bake drop cookies, I'll have to share the recipe once I make them (in my new apron:D) Any way just thought I'd share a picture of me wearing it.Isn't beautiful?
Thank you so much Miss Toria for the beautiful apron, I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Also thank you for the recipe!!
Hugs from Texas,
Alisha

A God-glorifing ministry and magaizne

Hey everyone! How many of you are wanting a God-glorifying, wholesome, pure magazine to read? I know it's VERY, VERY HARD to find a magazine that follows your beliefs (I have trouble finding some too). Well look no further, because I have found the perfect one, it is called Pure Little Ladies Magazine.
You can subscribe for free, or you can receive the issues by donating $8. In order to subscribe you will need to go to http://www.purelittleladiesministry.com/ and click on the tab that says magazine, then click on the link that says subscribe. You will then need to copy and paste the form you see, and e-mail it to Miss Toria (the founder of this excellent ministry).

Just thought I'd let you all know I have found the perfect magazine :D

October 31 (Halloween)

I know that October 31st is coming up soon, so I thought that I would just write about it. My family and I used to celebrate Halloween and thought it was all fine and dandy.
After some research we decided to stop celebrating this holiday and do something else. I was not very happy with this decision, but I need to obey my parents like the Bible says. Instead of dressing up and trick or treating, we decided to rent a movie, have treats, and just stay at home. I really liked that I idea so I went on with my life without complaining to the Lord. After some years past they did more research and found out it is a Pagan Holiday. About 600 years ago the Pagans used to worship their god’s. Remember the first two commandments in the Bible Thou shalt not have no other god’s before me and Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. Remember from the Halloween movies, the black cats, well cats in general are considered "holy." The Pagans used to sacrifice cats, sad huh? You know one of the things I liked most about Halloween, it was to carve pumpkins! Did you know that there used to be a guy named Jack? He would walk around carrying a lantern to keep the evil spirits away from him. So everyone would make the lanterns out of pumpkins to keep the evil spirits away from them. As you can see there is nothing glorifying to the Lord Almighty through this holiday.
My parents have discussed about having a costume party after October 31st. Now there is nothing wrong with having a costume party, until you dress up like zombies, mummies, witches, Medusa, the devil, or any other evil creature. I hope you all have a different perspective on this evil oriented holiday.

A prayer request: Amber

Last Saturday or Sunday Amber got into a bad car accident. Not sure what happened really, but I know she is at home, nothing was broken, she just got pretty banged up. She and Kellyn may not be coming in November (we'll have to wait and see). I'll keep you updated on her progress. Thank you all for your prayers!

Household happenings

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted much this month as I did last month! Here is what we've been upto.
  1. We have now become JC (Jack) & Justin's foster family. They might stay in our family forever (it kind of depends on if their mother's parental rights are terminated).
  2. We are still getting used to having TWO boys in the family (when I say we I mean mom :D She would always say she could NEVER be a mother to boys...she's actually doing GREAT!!!)
  3. Sydney and I have started to find that it is kind of hard to do school when we want to play with JC and Justin. And help mom take care of them!
  4. We are all excited to have Amber & Kellyn come to down to Texas for Thanksgiving.
  5. I have learned to crochet and am now working on a baby doll blanket for Syd.
  6. I have entered in Pratically Pink's fall apron swap and am going to start making the apron for my swap partner.

I'll update you all some more, sometime soon.

God's amazing creation ~ 5

(picture taken by my mom)

"And God said, Let the bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit , whose seed was in itself, after his kind, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that is was good."
Genesis 1:11-12
