Our beautiful old house in Iowa, this house was built in like 1909.

My precious lil' sis at 6.  She was patiently waiting her turn to jump with dad on the trampoline.

The joy of living in Texas (and yes this is a REAL scorpion caught by my wonderful...and mighty brave dad.  And might I add that I believe he was stung on the hand by this awful arachnid!)

Amber and Kellyn have been happily married for 8 months and Amber is three and a half months pregnant!

Amber sent her High School prom dress in the mail along with gifts.  Syd has fallen in love with it, and is not seen with out it on.

 Syd just LOVES Toby, and is quite happy that the Lord answered her prayer.

We finally have a trampoline again!  Syd is actually in the air making this face

We made Spritz cookies yesterday, they are YUMMY!!

The meaning of Christmas

Since Christmas is only 2 days away I thought it was only appropriate to post about it.

When you hear the word Christmas what do you think about?

If the first thing that popped into your mind was the tree, looking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve, hot chocolate with marshmallows :D, and presents. That's okay, because I have to be honest, August-December I always tell my parents, "You know what I want for Christmas? I want a PINK iPod nano, piano music, the WOW Hits 2011 CD, Brandon Heath's newest CD!" The list just keeps getting longer EVERY YEAR!! But I'm not posting to tell you all what earthly possessions I want, I'm posting to tell you the true meaning of Christmas REALLY IS!!!

2010 years ago a young lady (probably in her teens we don't know) named Mary and told her that she would be the mother of His Son, and that He would save His people from their sins. Mary willingly said, "Let it be done according to Your will." And God did not lie, His Son Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph (her husband) raised Him. When He grew up He healed the lame, healed the blind, cast out demons, etc. And He saved us all from our sins!!! Isn't that amazing? If you don't believe me you can read it your-self in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It's right there in black and white, the true Word of God are not stories!!!!! If they were then we'd all be in A LOT OF TROUBLE wouldn't we? God does NOT lie, His words are True!
I hope you all have a BLESSED Christmas that is filled with the Joy of our Wonderful Savior's birth!

Fellowship and winter projects

Two days ago mom, Syd, and I went to our friends house for fellowship. We had such a great time! Our day of fellowship included trying on a new dress :D, playing with the Nerf guns in the upstairs hallway (ABSOLUTE FUN), playing hide and seek on their 5 acres of land, and much, much more absolute happiness! After enough playing with the Nerf guns, my 11 year old friend taught me how to patchwork quilt. I was very nervous at first, but after I got the hang of using a sewing machine (I've only used one ONCE in my life), I really enjoyed it! We all had a great time hanging out with one another, and trying out German Chocolate :D

So yesterday, I decided to make my mom a patchwork quilt throw. But instead of using a sewing machine I taught myself how to sew by hand. And to be honest with you, it is more fun to sew by hand than to sew with a machine (even though it's a lot of work). I have already started working on the quilt, but not enough to post any pictures yet! I'll post pictures when it's big enough to take pictures of :D

Introducing...

...

For as long I can remember Syd has always wanted a cat of her own, but our landlord has told us NO MORE ANIMALS!!! It is stopping us...but not all the strays in our neighborhood :D So Sydney has been praying, and praying, and praying for a cat to call her own. Then suddenly, this little guy comes along! So immediately Syd thinks that this is the Lord's answer to her prayer. So now Toby has officially adopted us, and just today brought over his TWIN!!! So we will continue to feed our three cats!
