My new experience

Since I'm turning 16 in three days [grin] my mom decided to let me do something CRAZY!!

You see yesterday I went to get my hair done, and I've always wanted hi-lights, so I talked my mom into it.  Well...actually our hair stylist talked my mom into it.  My face just expressed EXTREME JOY!  So I was able to pick the colors I wanted to have put in my hair...keeping in mind that these will be permanent and that I'll have to live with them.  So I chose 3 colors...are you ready to hear what they are?  The colors are purple, blue, and...green.  It's a good thing that it's not April Fools day today, I'm serious!

Just thought I'd share about my new experience!  I'll be getting my 16 year pictures taken, so I'll have to post them on here so you all can see my new hi-lights :D

*I hope you all have a BLESSED weekend!*

Blessings,
Ali

She's nine!

Tuesday Sydney turned nine years old and made it known :) When we went to the DPS office she made sure the employee knew it was her birthday. Thank you Ladybug for taking time out of your day so I could take the driving test. She absolutely loved the gifts she received from family and me.

Wednesday we actually "celebrated" her birthday and went to an amusement park called ZDT's. We absolutely had a blast (again) at this place, they had added two new rides, one is called the Dizzy Toucan and the second one is called the Hydro Coaster. Before we knew it, it was time to go home. Sydney (and I) had a GREAT time!

Here are some pictures I took on her birthday.

This is what I got when I told her I wanted a smile.

I think she was just a little excited :)

Sydney had just made a wish or said a little prayer, not quite sure which one she decided to do. All the credit goes to my dad for taking this picture ~ love you dad :)

My 15th birthday

Saturday and Monday my family and I celebrated my fifteenth birthday, my parents and sister made this birthday a really special birthday. This is how my birthday went:

Saturday my mom and dad took Sydney and I out to eat at Blake's Cafe, after dinner we headed for a place called Austin's Park. While we were there we played Laser Tag, we rode the Go-Karts, and the bumper boats. After the park closed we went to Sonic and got a late night sweetie.

Since I turned fifteen my mom and dad decided I was old enough to watch Passion of the Christ. So Sunday night we watched and, I think I was still a little to young to see this movie (it shook me up a little too much).

Then yesterday we just had a family party. On our way to go have some lunch my friends called and wished me a happy birthday. We had Burger King for lunch and then went to Austin for the day. When we got home mom made Bacon wrapped Scallops with confetti rice, and baked beans. Then for dessert we had cake (made by the Wal-mart bakery) and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Then I opened the gift my sister got me, she had gotten me a scrapbook and scrap-booking accessories, and a shower wrap. And my dad had bought me some white Carnations for my birthday.

Like I say EVERY year: "This is the best birthday ever!"

We will be leaving for Iowa next Monday so when I get back I'll post pictures because my birthday will be expanding while we are on our trip. I'll post some pictures when we get back :)

In His unfailing love,
Ali Ann

I cannot believe it!

As I told you last year, my dad had found a vacant lot with a bunch of roads and started teaching me how to drive a manual, then the city closed it up and put in a major highway. Well this year I may be behind the wheel again, but I wont be driving on a bunch of vacant roads, I may be driving to church, the store, etc.

Here in Texas you have to be fifteen to get your Learner's Permit, so last year when I turned fourteen my mom and dad decided to let me get a head start and picked up the Driver's Handbook so I could start studying. Yeah well that didn't work out so well, because once I started reading Chapter one I threw the book behind my back and said, "forget about it, I'll just wait 'til 2010 to read it then." I kept my word, but now I have two months and I'm only on Chapter five (which happens to be the longest chapter IN THE WORLD!)
So with the encouragement from my parents I am planning on getting my permit exactly on my fifteenth birthday, unless I fail the test.

I guess to sum this all up I'm really excited for April to come so I can take the test!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Just yesterday was my mom's birthday and we decided to make her day a special one.

Our day started out by my dad going to the store and getting my mom some flowers. Not only did he get my mom flowers, but he also took the day off of work just for my mom, and made breakfast. My mom LOVES thrifting (she is the ULTIMATE thrifter), so he found 10 or 15 different thrift stores for all of us to go to. We were gone from 10:00 in the morning until 10:00 last night.

Then the night ended by going to Fazoli's for dinner (Birthday girl's choice). We all enjoyed making the day special for our Mama Hen.

Even though my mom had to walk into some NASTY thrift stores, she still enjoyed her birthday!!
I love you mom, I'm glad that you enjoyed your Birthday week!!
In Christ,
Alisha

I can't believe it!!

Remember the secret I told you? You know the one about me learning how to drive? Yeah well...Goodbye Driving!

Just recently I lost my privilege to drive. Well during my pouting moments the contractors decided to close the place where I go driving, the nerve of those contractors! So now that my driving place is closed up, my dad is looking for a new place for me to drive.

Also on April fifth I turned fourteen-years-old. For my birthday we went to church, then we went out to lunch at my favorite restaurant called Blake's Cafe. While we were there I was given a FREE dessert. Then we went to the movie theater and watched a movie that we all enjoyed. My mom and dad can't believe that their oldest is now fourteen. Two years ago my parents decided that they were giving us too many gifts, so they decided to gift us with experience! So tomorrow or Saturday we will be going Kayaking down the river here. I will post about the Kayaking experience.

In Christ,
Alisha
